How Much Product Should You Be Applying?

You got your skin in the game, and you're doing your part to win with the fight against aging! You realized it's not that hard to stick to a skincare routine, and you’ve been consistent with remembering to apply your stash of skincare in the AM and PM. But, do you know how much product you should be applying to your face? Do you dab a little here and a little there?  How much product is being wasted, and how much is the right amount? No matter what you’re doing, we're just glad you're doing it, aside from the wasted part. There is a suggested amount of product you should be using each time you step in front of the mirror to do your skincare routine, and we’re here to share the facts.

When applying your skincare, it's important your not overdoing it. Every drop is important, and every time you squeeze or pump, it costs you. So it's time to portion control and ensure you're only using the suggested amount, so your skincare lasts as long as it is intended.

     1.Cleansers/Face Wash

There are more than a few types of face cleansers to choose from. Whether your reaching for a liquid cleanser, gel, or cream, the rule is the same. You’re suggested amount is about the size of one cranberry. I think many of us are guilty of squeezing out more than a small cranberry size of cleanser. Whether you wake up and use our Invigorate Face Wash or the Acne Control Face Wash, a small amount is all you need. If you feel like you need a double cleanse, use half the amount you used the first time.

  1. Scrubs

Scrubs should be used at least once or twice a week, depending on your skin type and what it can handle. When working with grainy scrubs, use a portion about the size of a raspberry. That amount should cover your face and neck. The Revitalize Face Scrub is packed with vitamins, probiotics, activated charcoal, and too good to waste. A raspberry size is all you need.

  1. Eye Cream

The skin around our eyes is so delicate and vital to take care of. If you're trying to age gracefully, you are probably trying to avoid eye wrinkles and crow's feet. Over-applying a product isn't going to do the trick. The rule for eye cream is a drop the size of a sunflower seed for each eye. No more than that is needed to do the job.

  1. Moisturizer

Aim for the volume and length of one almond when applying your moisturizer morning and night. The Recharge Facial Moisturizer is loaded with cutting-edge ingredients that absorb and moisturize deeply. You can apply your moisturizer in dots on your face and neck before you spread it out evenly.

  1. SPF

Sunscreen should always be applied when you’re going to be exposed to the sun's rays. Protecting your face and neck is essential to fighting off wrinkles and holding onto your youth. Generally, you want to apply a portion of sunscreen about the size of one plump grape. Don’t forget to cover up from the top of your ears and through your hairline. This measurement is simply for your face area and not your body if you plan to be exposed.

With this portion control information, you’ll be sure to use the right amount of product and never let any product go to waste. A tiny amount goes a long way, and I’m sure these comparisons were smaller than you thought. So don't think back to how you’ve been doing it and know that next time you do your skincare routine, you’ll be on the right track.
