Habits That Are Aging Your Eyes

There are times in your life when you cant squeeze in a good night's sleep. You had to work late or didn't sleep well. The effects of a bad night's sleep can easily be seen the next day. Add all the years you’ve been smiling and squinting your eyes to that plus genetics, and you end up with under-eye puffiness, dark circles, and crows feet. The tired eye look adds years to your appearance. We can't always blame a rough night for tired-looking eyes. However, there are a few daily habits you’re likely guilty of that are attributing to your aged eyes.

  • You don’t use eye cream

Without a doubt, you want to be using a daily eye cream. Eye cream is one of the most essential products in your regimen. Since the skin around your eyes is the thinnest on your body, it's important to cater to it the right way. The signs of aging usually appear around the eyes, so don't skip this step.

  • You scrub your eye area

A face scrub is recommended one to two times a week, depending on your skin's sensitivity. However, you want to make sure you're not rubbing or scrubbing your eye area when you do scrub. Doing this would damage delicate under-eye skin.

  • You’re not eating right

Maybe an instant eye tightener might temporarily camouflage aging eyes' appearance, but a healthy lifestyle plays a big role. You want to eat a diet rich in vitamins and nutrients for younger-looking skin around the eye area, including Vitamin B, C, and K. Vitamin B helps the eye area retain elasticity, Vitamin C brightens the skin, and Vitamin K encourages collagen production.

The skin around our eyes is extremely delicate, and the reason we need to take care of aging eyes. However, we can stop these habits by incorporating an eye cream into our skincare routine, eating more foods rich in vitamins and nutrients, and being gentle when scrubbing our faces.
